About
Matt David is a 4th year medical student (MD), internationally published author and speaker, a leading national MCAT tutor and academic coach, and a science communicator specializing in biomedical science, evolutionary medicine, and genetics. He is a member of the Medical Scholar Research Pathway Program in genetics and evolutionary medicine, and is a medial media contributor for the editorial board for the World Journal of Surgery.
He has presented on genetics, aging, evolutionary medicine, adaptive contingency, and endogenous retroviruses at research conferences from Texas to the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine, and has been accepted for paper, poster, and symposium presentations in Cell Press' Trends in Genetics, at the Cell Symposium on Viruses, and the conferences of the International Society for Evolution, Medicine, and Public Health (ISEMPH).
As a science writer and communicator, Matt's work has received a Best of 2024 selection by Sapiens Anthropology Magazine for his work on genetics and racial equality in medicine, and he has hosted some of the world's leading researchers in medicine, genetics, and aging on his podcast, Saving Sapiens.
Matt ranks among the top MCAT scorers nationally, with multiple 100th percentile section scores, and has been an elite-level MCAT tutor for a decade. He is also the co-founder of an internationally published photography studio, and has taught photography workshops for over 17 years. Before pursuing his Doctorate of Medicine, Matt earned a Bachelor of Science with cum laude honors in Mathematics (min. in Physics), and worked as a Google Networks quant analyst.
